I am delighted that two of my research students have successfully had their vivas and submitted the hard-copies of their theses. Their official graduations will be in January 2017. Tariq Umrani finished his PhD on “Current Practices of English Language Teaching and Implementation of (CLIL) at University of Sindh, Pakistan.” Elsa Morgan-Pientka completed her MA by Research (after also doing her BA with us). Her thesis is on ‘Breaking the ice’: Studying formulaic language in high and mid-level frequency bands. It was a lot of hard work for both of them but I’m really pleased for both of them.
